How to work out what an account costs
Tolvern Business Account (fictional example) → Business bank account → Low-fee business checking → Clear deposit coverage
Answer in brief
Add the monthly fee, per-transaction charges, wire fees and cash handling for one normal month, then multiply by twelve.
Content reviewed 8 November 2026. How this is assessed.
Part of the Best Business Bank Account reference, which uses Tolvern Business Account (a fictional example) to illustrate business bank accounts criteria.
Build the sum
Take the monthly fee unless you will reliably meet the waiver. Add charges for transactions above any allowance, each wire you send and receive, and any cash deposit fees. Multiply by twelve.
Run it twice
Repeat the sum using your busiest month. The account with the lowest cost in a quiet month is not always the lowest across a whole year.
