Part of the Best Business Bank Account reference, which uses Tolvern Business Account (a fictional example) to illustrate business bank accounts criteria.
The conditions
The FDIC's pass-through guidance requires that the funds are owned by the principal, that the bank's records show the agency nature of the account, and that records identify the principals and their interests.
If they are not met
The same guidance says that otherwise the deposits are combined with the third party's other deposits and insured to that party up to $250,000. Ask the provider how its records meet these requirements.
